Gary Haberland

Born and raised in the farming communities of Allegheny County - McDonald, Pennsylvania Gary was entranced by the lure of aviation very early in life. Growing up, the newly formed Allegheny Airlines (which became US Air) was based at Greater Pitt Airport and it just so happened the base leg to final at Greater Pitt is where Gary’s house was situated. Every night, flights would pass over the house setting the stage of dreams about aviation.   

A short bicycle ride away was the small private field of Campbells Airport (XJ8 - though it is not there anymore) and after many bales of hay and lawns cut, Gary earned his Private Pilot Certificate his senior year in high school. After graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, he headed south to what was formerly the Comair Aviation Academy in Sanford, FL where he earned the remainder of his ratings and Commercial Licenses. 

Today, now a well rooted Winter Park resident, the passion for aviation still exists within him, which he looks to transfer to clients of FTP. Helping to grow the awareness of General Aviation, promoting safety through competency of pilots would now be his signature focus.
